Sweet and salty coconut rice from Cravings - Recipes for All the Food You Want to Eat (page 83) by Chrissy Teigen and Adeena Sussman

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Really liked, use 2 Tbsp sugar and could probably drop to 1 next time

I cook this at least once a week. Such a great addition to any dinner!!

I came upon this recipe searching for ways to jazz up plain steamed rice. The toasted coconut was a nice addition, but 1/4 cup of sugar in a pot of rice? That is insane, so skipped the sugar and we can call it 'salty coconut rice'.

I love this and make it every time I have some leftover coconut milk to use up

This was very yummy. My husband couldn't tear himself away from the bowl.

I need to give this another try, I skimped on the salt and think that it really might have needed the full amount. I wouldn't mind trying with short-grain rice as well.

Similar to coconut sticky rice, but I would also reduce the amount of sugar. I have made it with reduced fat coconut milk and prefer regular coconut milk as suggested in the book.

This was a nice idea, but too sweet for my taste. I would try it again using 1 or 2 tbsp sugar at most.
