    Good (very good) old-fashion chocolate birthday cake! I noted in the book the adjustment for Dutch process cocoa, taken from the recipe online. Milk. Half dark and half regular cocoa was great; either alone should be fine, though I'd probably prefer regular to dark. Three 8" layers baked in 30 minutes. Two 8" layers would fit in my deep pans.
