    I jumped straight to the slow cooker instructions, which said to combine everything in the cooker, and missed seeing the part about cutting and salting the pork beforehand. The carnitas turned out well anyway, but were probably not as well seasoned as they could have been. The slow cooker method was very easy. My pork butt weighed 3.5 lbs and I got enough carnitas for 2 pies.
