Citrusy cucumbers with red onion and toasted sesame from Nothing Fancy: Unfussy Food for Having People Over (page 96) by Alison Roman

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Pretty good! I should have made more tahini sauce. I think it needed a tad more salt for my taste.

This is another great turn on cucumbers, I love the effect of marinating them in lemon juice with the red onions — shallots in my case — and the tahini adds richness. I added Aleppo-style chile along with the sumac, and left out the cilantro, which would have been perfect. A tasty and refreshing salad.

excellent!!! fresh, creamy, and herby. I think it would be great with grilled chicken or chickpeas to make it a full dinner

I didn't soak the onions and simply mixed the tahini dressing in, rather than pooling it on the plate.

I am a little bit of a tahini convert. I was never a huge fan before, but fresh tahini in a salad like this one is actually really good!
