Ohn-no khao swè from The Chicken Soup Manifesto: Recipes from Around the World (page 125) by Jenn Louis

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

Notes about this recipe

Can substitute red onions for shallots.

This was delicious! I've seen other recipes for ohn no khao swe call for lemongrass so I added some since I had it on hand. Also, I didn't have Chinese-style wheat noodles and didn't want to go to the store just for them so I used linguini and added baking soda to the cooking water to "alkalize" them a bit. It's not the same, but close enough.

Tasty! I loved the combination of ingredients in this. Accidentally blitzed all the onions so didn’t have any to sauté - will have to pay more attention to recipe details next time! I think if I made it again, I’d use more chicken. Lots of yummy soup left over.
