Turkey turnovers from The New York Times Cookbook (1961) by Craig Claiborne

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Accompaniments: Mushroom sauce

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

A good recipe to use up leftover turkey. It was very simple to make, basically chopped turkey in a seasoned white sauce, which is placed in a pie crust and baked. The sauce was thick, and didn't run all over the place, so it was easy to fill the turnover. I made them a bit larger than the recipe called for, with a 1/4 cup of filling to the turnover, and got 6 turnovers from the double pie crust recipe and the filling from this recipe.
