    I only made the baked bean component. I used bottled white beans so I skipped the initial cooking, and only baked them for 1 1/2 hours. I didn't have molasses, so I used black treacle. They were fabulous. Excellent flavour!

    V. Good and simple. I ended up using plum syrup because I could not find pomegranate molasses in my messy cabinet.

    The wild garlic patch in my garden is only tiny so there was no way I could come up with 200g - so my pesto was 30g each of wild garlic, pine nuts and parmesan. It was still a generous quantity. Very nice way to eat wild garlic!

    I used bag of already cooked king prawns (per person!) This is so delicious & a lovely use for sorrel.

• Pork and venison sausage rolls with sherry onions

    I used marsala instead of the sherry, and I was a little concerned it would be too sweet but it wasn't at all. And I used minced muntjac venison instead of mincing my own.

• Peach iced tea

    I adore peach iced tea but all the brands I used to buy have stevia in them now which totally ruins them. This is fairly simple and very good. I used 500ml water for 2 Yorkshire teabags and it was about the right strength, making up a litre of peach tea. Next time I would reduce the amount of sugar though.

• Crispy baked Korean chicken wings

    The technique for the crispy skin was very successful and the wings were really succulent, but the sauce was too salty and a bit overwhelming - we should have just added a small drizzle.
