  • Grilled chicken salad with Parmesan dressing

  • Grilled tuna with marinated tomato salad

    • Zosia on July 13, 2016

Great flavour with minimal cooking and visually, a very pretty dish. The sweetness of the white balsamic vinegar dressing was perfect with the tomatoes but was also a very good complement to the more savoury elements. I replaced peppadew peppers with sweet bell peppers, added chilli flakes to taste and doubled the amount of vegetables in the salad to feed 4, keeping the dressing quantity the same.

  • T-bone steaks with smoky barbecue sauce and corn salad

    • Dishyrishie on March 07, 2015

Delicious and easy - both the BBQ sauce and the smoky corn salad. Used coriander instead of tarragon in the salad.

    • e_ballad on February 13, 2017

I can't comment on the BBQ sauce, but we loved the corn salad! The tarragon was fantastic against the corn & feta.

  • Smoked salmon & potato cakes with poached egg

    • e_ballad on March 13, 2017

Terrible. A cake of mashed & potato & leek, with the occasional barely-detectable sliver of smoked salmon. Fell into a gazillion pieces on attempting to turn in the pan. Horrible.

  • Raspberry & banana bread with honey labne

    • e_ballad on March 20, 2017

Phwoar. This was good, actually pretty darn fantastic. The 'make a day ahead' applies to the labne, which I didn't get to due to time constraints. But I actually don't think that anything extra was required. Yum, yum, yum.

  • Lamb backstraps with Moroccan salad

  • Lamb, zucchini & haloumi burgers with sesame salt

    • Dishyrishie on March 06, 2015

Good, but needs more spice otherwise risks being too bland.

    • e_ballad on October 28, 2016

Thought these were really tasty & very easy to knock up as a quick meal. I think the seasoning depends a lot on the saltiness of your haloumi. This has become our go-to lamb burger recipe. I'm not sure that the sesame salt added a great deal to the dish.

  • Tuna with roasted tomato, caper & olive salsa

    • Eurydice on February 24, 2013

I loved these flavours with yellow-fin tuna. I rinsed the olives and capers well and used a bit less of them than specified both to reduce salt and ensure the flavours wouldn't overpower the beautiful fish.

  • Parmesan & herb fish fingers with artichoke & caperberry salsa

    • e_ballad on December 31, 2016

We can't comment on the salsa, but the fish fingers are a bit of a staple at ours. Fantastic in fish tacos or fish burgers, we rarely purchase fish & chips from the takeaway joint anymore as these are such a doddle to prepare.

  • Lemon & honey chicken salad

    • e_ballad on January 06, 2017

The marinade didn't lend much flavour to the end product - I'd be tempted to turn it into a glaze for grilled chicken. The salad was pretty meh overall.

  • Potato & Fontina frittata

    • e_ballad on August 17, 2016

This was a perfect lunch - simple, quick & tasty. The addition of Fontina probably made this so great, as realistically, this wasn't a dish that is hugely different from other frittata recipes. As no seasonal ingredients used, perfect all year around, rather that specifically a summer dish.

  • Pan-fried ginger tofu with edamame salad

    • hewlettn on September 19, 2025

  • Mustardy potato & hot-smoked salmon salad

    • e_ballad on August 17, 2016

Despite being winter in our part of the world, tried this out for a weekday lunch - yummo. Brilliant dish. Couldn't find any local frozen broad beans, so substituted frozen edamame beans.

  • BLT chicken salad

    • e_ballad on October 28, 2016

This was fantastic. Would be perfect for a weekday lunch, as you would just keep the Turkish bread separate.

  • Mexican steak & bean salad

    • e_ballad on February 13, 2017

Fantastic midweek meal. Incredibly quick to knock up.
