NO. 7 SUB BROCCOLI SANDWICH--I made so many substitutions to this recipe that I really have no right reviewing it, but I'm going to anyway because the result was so delicious. I substituted canned mandarins for the lychees which worked out perfectly (and produced a very tasty pickle condiment!). I substituted sliced almonds for the pine nuts and feta for the ricotta salata. I also roasted the broccoli until quite crisp as my cooking method. We had these on a crusty-ish sandwich bread, because unfortunately I had no rolls. All changes aside, I think I nailed the spirit of the sandwich, which was AWESOME. All the flavors and textures worked perfectly together! And, if you make the pickles in advance, you can throw the sandwich together in no time. I will definitely be making this again, preferably on a hero roll as intended. Awesome.
