Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Vegan French toast

    • SenseiHeidi on January 17, 2026

Made 01/17/26. Made batter for more than 10 standard supermarket slices of sandwich bread. The batter tasted chalky, but after being cooked, it was fine. The French toast itself was a little soggy. My favorite remains French toast from The Blossom Cookbook: Classic Favorites from the Restaurant that Pioneered a New Vegan Cuisine.

  • Breakfast crepes

    • cmartinfirvida on March 31, 2024

These took less than five minutes to put together before the one hour rest in the fridge. They are sturdy enough for a lot of different fillings. The whole wheat definitely imparts its own taste and make a good backdrop for bolder flavors. Pure comfort served with homemade applesauce!

  • Broccoli cheese soup

    • EmilyR on January 14, 2019

Very simple, relatively healthy and quick.

  • Pork tenderloin in orange-ginger sauce

    • eatwithmecanada on January 15, 2017

It would have been good with the addition of chilli peppers for a bit more flavour. It was okay, but I won't make it again.

  • Coconut-pineapple sherbet

    • WhatMattersMostNow on January 22, 2016

We loved this and were thrilled how fast we could have pineapple sorbet without having to take the extra steps to freeze.

  • Tropical mango freeze

    • tlcook on March 23, 2021

Yummy, healthy and simple. Sweetness will depend on the frozen fruit.
