Notes about this book

Grilled beef short ribs, galbi - page 177. Solid recipe. Skipped honey since I don't care for sweeter savory foods and I thought it was perfect. AFA galbi goes, I would rate this 4 1/2*.

I have approx 15 Korean cookbooks written in English and in Japanese. This book is ok but wish it included photos and not one of my favorites. There are scattered photos (very few), but hard to figure out what's what. For example, I assume the cover is bibimbap but I do not see this recipe in the book with corn, looks like roast beef, sprouts, etc. There is one generic bibimbap but it's not the cover.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Spicy green beans

    • PennyG on March 29, 2026

I had a bit of green beans to be used with Flanken Ribs and Scallion Pancakes for dinner after a busy day - wanted something quick and easy. This fit the bill perfectly!

  • Braised chicken and potatoes (Dakdoritang)

Such a fast yummy weeknight meal- especially for colder days. Add a lot more veg, especially carrots. Made it 4 times now - always a rough guesstimate on measures as it’s very forgiving.
