Kathleen Taggart directed the Kitchen Kaboodle Cooking School in Portland for seven years, where she and Dan taught classes. They co-wrote their first book, Entertaining People: Menus from the Kitchen Kaboodle Cooking School, which won an IACP award. They went on to pen several other books, including The Basic Gourmet Entertains, Northwest Food and Wine and Cooking for the Week: Leisurely Weekend Cooking for Easy Weekday Meals.
