Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Corn muffins

  • Pancakes

    • Lalamzo on February 07, 2026

My favorite simple pancakes. I use half whole wheat flour, half white flour.

  • German apple cake (Versunkener apfelkuchen)

    • Hannaha100 on June 13, 2018

Fairly easy to make but hard to tell when cooked as quite a wet batter. Did 50 minutes and seemed about right? Would probably work gf too.

  • Blueberry orange bundt cake

    • Lglen on July 21, 2018

I substituted a very scant 1/2 cup of soy flour for part of the all purpose flour, adds to the golden colour. Very nice as muffins.

  • Pumpkin pie

    • Lalamzo on November 29, 2025

Solid recipe. Everyone liked it. Would make again. Made with the pecan pie crust from the same book.

  • Peanut butter cookies

    • Linda513 on October 28, 2011

Cookies come out too flat, so I made some changes: Use crisco butter flavored instead of earth balance. Chill dough for 1 hour. Don't press down the cookies too hard. Cook 8 minutes and let sit on cookie sheet 3 minutes.

  • Rice pudding (Risgrynsgröt)
