  • Shrimp and basil stir-fry

      This was a fabulous dish. I had a bumper crop of basil this year and was looking for other ways to use it in addition to pesto. This was a home run. Served it for a dinner party and it was both simple and perfect. I marinated the shrimp for about 30 minutes 10 minutes seemed to be too short to impart enough flavor. Used a large French carbon steel pan instead of non-stick to brown the shrimp slightly. Also used about 1 ½ bunches basil. Will make again.

  • Seared salmon with miso-honey sauce

      Good sauce. Made this with shrimp. I stir-fried the shrimp then tossed with the sauce in a bowl. It was very tasty with shrimp, and I bet it’s even better with salmon.

  • Spicy pork bowls with greens

      The pork was super flavorful, although a little spicy for my son. I might have sliced it too thinly, as I had to cook the pork in 3 batches. Wiping out the skillet between batches is essential since the marinade burns easily. While I appreciate that this recipe only requires one pan, the vegetables might have been easier to stir fry in a wok. We did not need gochujang with this as it was flavorful and spicy enough as is. Very tasty, would make again, but with extra veggies.
