Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Champagne cocktail

    • Logan92995 on January 25, 2026

Decent. The Angostura adds a nice bitterness to the cocktail, but it gets overpowered by the champagne itself.

  • Champagne à Nicholas II

    • Logan92995 on January 25, 2026

The Yellow Chartreuse is only slightly detectable in this drink. Given how little is used (1/4 oz), it's not surprising it gets lost.

  • Aperol spritz

    • Logan92995 on March 29, 2026

A perfect warm-weather cocktail. Really refreshing

  • Poinsettia

    • hbakke on December 11, 2023

Nice sparkling cocktail. I garnished with a candied orange.

  • Sea breeze

    • hbakke on January 24, 2024

Nice cocktail. It tasted mostly like the typical Cape Cod cocktail (vodka-cranberry juice), and the grapefruit juice wasn't very detectable. This may be due to the cranberry juice I used.

  • Salty dog

    • hbakke on April 08, 2024

I loved the hint of salt to offset the bitterness of the grapefruit juice, but the gin was too strong of a flavor. I think I prefer the more neutral taste of vodka to gin in this cocktail.

  • Singapore sling

    • Logan92995 on March 29, 2026

Fine, but I found myself ultimately underwhelmed. I think topping it with club soda actually detracts from the drink, as it makes an otherwise pretty fruity cocktail kind of dry.

  • Classic sour

    • Logan92995 on February 07, 2026

Hard to go wrong with a classic. Spirit used was gin.

  • Naked & famous

    • Logan92995 on February 01, 2026

Absolutely delicious. All of the components come together really well to make a fantastically balanced cocktail.

  • Southside

    • Logan92995 on March 29, 2026

Great pairing. Recommend double straining to prevent bits of mint from getting into your drink, though!

  • Whiskey sour

    • Logan92995 on March 29, 2026

      A classic, tasty pairing

  • Captain's blood

    • Logan92995 on February 15, 2026

      Basically a daiquiri, but sweeter.

  • Between the sheets

    • Logan92995 on January 17, 2026

Really tasty sour. Not super spirit forward

  • Applecar/apple cart

    • hbakke on December 27, 2023

Boozy, but with a pleasant apple/fruity flavor.

  • Lemon drop

    • hbakke on December 28, 2023

Nice classic lemon drop cocktail. I added a lemon sugar rim.

  • Jasmine

    • Logan92995 on January 25, 2026

Nice version of a sour, where the Campari is not too overpowering.

  • Gin Holland House

    • hbakke on December 28, 2023

Sweet and tropical tasting from the pineapple. Will repeat.

  • Trinidad sour

    • Logan92995 on January 19, 2026

Surprisingly really tasty, excepting its murky appearance! The bitters get complemented really well by the orgeat and lemon, and the rye also adds a nice subtlety.

  • Japanese slipper

    • hbakke on September 24, 2023

My favorite cocktail. Sour and fruity with a syrupy Luxardo cherry garnish.

  • Fynbos cocktail

    • stephen_kna028 on January 26, 2026

Teas are a tricky ingredient in cocktails and this one does a good job balancing the tannins with the other components.

  • Revolver

    • crystal_gv0ewa on March 29, 2026

Really good with Bulleit and St. George NOLA Coffee Liquer.

  • Gin & It

    • crystal_gv0ewa on May 29, 2026

Used Dubonnet Rogue in place of sweet vermouth. Was fine. Potent and easy but other things in sane effort category I’d make instead.

  • Frank's special

    • hbakke on December 29, 2023

Husband said it tasted like a classic martini with a hint of peach.

  • Jungle bird

  • Grasshopper

    • Logan92995 on March 29, 2026

Delicious, but very sweet. Definitely a dessert cocktail
