Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Peperoncini chicken

    • selena__rhea on August 30, 2021

      This is fantastic!

    • meggan on September 10, 2021

Very easy and delicious. The peperoncinis taste great but do not make the chicken and potatoes overly spicy for sensitive youths.

  • Cold Sichuan peppercorn noodles [Simone Tong, Little Tong Noodle Shop]

    • Dannausc on August 28, 2021

I used 2 T. of Sichuan peppercorns, because I can’t get enough of it! I used 1 T. white and 1 T. black sesame seeds. I omitted the corn and used 1 lb if green beans. My wife and I both liked it a lot. Worth a repeat.

    • foodgloriousfood on April 01, 2022

Loved this. I used broccoli and sugar snap peas instead of the green beans as that is what I had. Added lots more red pepper flakes. Enjoyed the corn in this.

  • Weeknight ragù

    • twoyolks on October 26, 2021

By no means is this bad, it's just a bit basic in flavor.

  • Spiced-tomato braised fish

    • sharone7 on November 06, 2021

This is so delicious and while it has a lot of powerful spices the flavor is still delicate. I had some leftover canned whole tomatoes and tomato sauce in the fridge and I used that instead of purée. This was super easy and I know I’ll make it again.

  • Chile-braised chicken tostadas

    • Dannausc on August 28, 2021

Quite easy. I served it over bulgur. I stirred in some lime juice into the sauce and topped it with Feta as that’s what I had. Pretty decent but a little bitter.

  • Creole seasoning

    • Stephenn31 on May 27, 2024

Used in a red beans and rice recipe. Nice blend.

  • Strawberry doughnut muffins

    • EmilyR on February 20, 2025

I appreciate the freeze dried flavor packing exterior. The muffin itself is OK… I don’t get a major doughnut vibe from them. The Midwest Made doughnut loaf with nutmeg tastes more like a doughnut, but this is something different.

  • Mackerel pantry pasta

    • Dannausc on September 11, 2021

Super easy and quite good. Definitely worth a repeat.

  • Curry vegetables [Rawlston Williams]

    • Dannausc on September 21, 2021

Quite easy. Good and fulfilling. Worth a repeat.

  • Caramelized pork and cucumber stir-fry

    • Dannausc on August 28, 2021

I used ground turkey in place of the pork. I served it over quinoa. Pretty decent.

    • Stephenn31 on May 24, 2025

Solid recipe. I loved the idea of the pork patties, to give a mix of sizes and textures to the pork. Next time maybe I'd add a bit of the oyster sauce to the pork patties. A great way to use/eat cucumbers.
