    Our favorite cake for passover (or any other time of year). It's rich and dense. Delicious with a raspberry coulis and/or barely sweetened whipped cream.

• Braised fennel, celery, onion and red pepper

    This was actually very simple and very tasty. The reason it didn't get more stars is that the timing was way off - it needed about twice as long as stated, and the onions wouldn't have minded staying in the oven for even longer. I added some fennel seeds as well, which was nice.

• Cornbread and prosciutto stuffing

    A very decent dressing recipe that is just slightly different from the expectations - add a little variety to Thanksgiving without crashing hopes.
