Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Chimichanga breakfast burrito

    • averythingcooks on May 15, 2026

I stirred black beans into the scrambled eggs in place of the refried beans & added some cooked Mexican chorizo. With lots of pickled peppers & cheese inside + a generous amount of salsa on the side, these very full "knife & fork" burritos came out of the air fryer hot & crispy and we enjoyed this simple dinner. And I just realized I forgot to add the crushed tortilla chips...not sure we missed them :)

  • Masala-spiced onion rings with mint-mayo dipping sauce

    • peaceoutdesign on September 04, 2023

First of all, a bit too salty. I used this recipe to try out a new air fryer and think I may have been hoping for a cooking miracle. I was so looking for that deep-fried taste and although the onion rings were good, they were not quite the same. I want to try again without the spices and spritzing with more oil.

  • Garlic-rosemary shoestring fries

    • peaceoutdesign on March 26, 2025

I used YukonGold potatoes instead and used a mini spiralizer. I used rosemary EVOO. This was delicious but needs to be tossed a lot due to uneven cooking.

  • Spiralized potato nest with spicy tomato ketchup

    • peaceoutdesign on June 08, 2024

I made this 1/8" on a spiralizer and they were very crisp, and had lots of taste but difficult to eat. Next time I would try a bit of a thicker cut and see how that goes.

  • French onion potato skins

    • averythingcooks on April 19, 2026

I did use the air fryer to bake the potatoes & to reheat them for dinner, but I caramelized the onions on the stove top. I also added the fresh thyme, vinegar + L & P directly into the onion pan. This time, I chose to make 2'ce baked potatoes (mixing the potato flesh with the onions & gruyere before refilling the skins). And yes, these were rich & delicious.

  • "Original recipe" fried chicken tenders

    • averythingcooks on February 25, 2026

I liked the idea of marinating the chicken in both the buttermilk & the beaten egg (skipping the need for an extra plate for "egg dipping") and the air fryer temp/cook time resulted in very juicy chicken BUT I'm not sure we needed all 12 herbs/spices in the flour dredge and we agreed that we missed the crunch of panko.

  • Hasselback potatoes with sour cream and chive pesto

    • averythingcooks on May 21, 2026

This is a great way to get "soft in the middle with lots of crispy bits" russets. I was already making a punchy, herby chimichurri style sauce which included chives so we spooned that over the potatoes with a little sour cream. I will use this method again for sure and try his chive pesto soon.

  • Caesar whole cauliflower

    • peaceoutdesign on February 23, 2024

This is a good way to change up cauliflower but it definitely needs to d=cook more/longer.

  • Sweet-and-sour Brussels sprouts

    • peaceoutdesign on September 13, 2023

Instead of Tabasco aka hot sauce, I used my version of Siuchaun chili sauce...resulting in perfect seasoning! I really like the leaves separated and browned so I would make sure to trim more individual leaves. almost Ilike it where you are almost getting "kale chips".

  • Sweet and salty roast carrots

    • peaceoutdesign on October 13, 2023

Good technique and taste. This process could be used for any roasted carrots and work well. I used whole baby carrots instead of sliced and think that the oil could be minimalized.
