Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Crushed new potatoes (Mtuma)

    • lkgrover on September 30, 2024

Delicious potato side dish; the sauce is amazing (and would complement many vegetables). I reduced the tahini by 50%, because a little tahini has a strong effect for me.

  • Falafel

    • et12 on January 26, 2026

This is the first time I make falafel from scratch and I thought the instructions very good. They came together nicely and held together beautifully during the cooking. I tried a few in the air fryer and these cooked well but were not as tasty as the deep fried ones. I’ll deep fry all of them next time.

  • Heirloom tomatoes, roasted fennel, and dukkah (Dukkah salad)

    • Maxineanna on August 14, 2024

Very tasty, I'd definitely do this again.

  • Buttered halibut

    • lkgrover on March 17, 2025

Delicious halibut with butter, lemon, herbs & spices. I substituted ground cumin for seeds.

  • Kuftah tahini

    • lkgrover on April 06, 2026

The ground meat flavor is excellent; a sweet/savory/spicy mix. I modified this for one pound of ground lamb. Used this book's Baharat spice mix. Served with pita bread, tahini, and parsley as suggested; also added kalamata black olives.
