  • Death by chocolate brownies

    • Frogcake on November 30, 2025

I’ve made these a few times for good reason. Very straightforward to make and they are delicious!

  • Pecan caramel Churchill squares

    • Frogcake on January 02, 2019

Delicious in the OMG-over-the-top sense. I will be making these at least annually. I didn’t have my candy thermometer on hand, but I followed the time suggestions and observed the simmering and change in viscosity. Maybe I was lucky but it seemed to me that the instructions were excellent. These really turned out well and they were very popular!

    • Frogcake on December 29, 2019

I don’t understand why this recipe doesn’t come up when I search for pecan caramel or Churchill- a bit annoying! This year, I’ve made three batches of these dangerous squares! Everyone loves them and must discipline themselves from eating a third square.

  • Date squares

    • Frogcake on February 09, 2019

It’s been ages since I made date squares and these did not disappoint. Super-delicious! Great oat crumble. I did add a half teaspoon of lemon rind to the date filling. I loved the authors’ suggestion to switch out dates for prunes - will try next time.

  • Cinnamon pinwheels

    • Frogcake on December 15, 2019

Fabulous cookies! My baba used to make cinnamon pinwheels from leftover pie dough that tasted just like these cookies! These will definitely be in my annual Christmas cookie bake-off.

    • Frogcake on December 01, 2022

These are very tasty cookies - impossible to eat just one! They are very good in a Christmas care package because they stay tasty and intact for at least two weeks.

  • Sticky toffee pudding with hot bourbon toffee sauce

    • nadiam1000 on October 26, 2021

This recipe is off - too much leavening for one thing. I ignored my instincts and went ahead - 4 1/2 tsp baking soda and almost 1 T of baking powder...I baked it on a sheet pan in case it overflowed. It did not but it never baked through - very dark brown after 45 mins and still jiggly in the center. I pulled it out of the oven it was fully sunk in the middle. The sauce is very good and I did not use most of it on the cake because I did not trust the cake. flavor not good either due to the leavening. ended up in the trash.

  • Lemonade

    • nadiam1000 on January 24, 2022

easy - very good tart sweet flavor

  • Passion fruit curd

    • nadiam1000 on July 13, 2020

Full batch in a 24 oz jar, stored in the fridge to use as a spread. I used frozen passion fruit puree. Delicious, rich and creamy with good passion fruit flavor - can eat this by the spoon. I might like a bit more tart - maybe add a bit of lemon juice next time.
