    Punchy salad. The sauce is distinctive, the overall dish is well-textured, and almost satisfying enough to be a meal in its own right. I used feta and Parmesan for my cheeses and lightly steamed my rather sharp winter cabbage before mixing with the dressing.

    Very refreshing, it definitely benefits from resting. It was a little aggressive when tasted after prepping. Cilantro was not available, we subbed in a good amount of dill.

• Pearl barley salad with pickled red onion, fennel, and szafir cheese

    Surprisingly good - almost reminiscent of pizza between the fennel and the Parmesan (which I subbed for szafir), but retaining a distinct personality.

    Nice recipe but...the lemon slices are very bitter. Next time, I'll just zest a lemon into the dish at the end. I added smoked salmon, which was nice.

    This was delicious. The ingredients list was unusual enough to grab my attention (things I wouldn’t necessarily think of using together, which always makes me want to try a recipe), and it came together easily. Will make again!

• Crispy smoked tofu with black Polish sauce

    This was decent. The sauce was fairly sweet, though the black pepper helped in that regard. The sauce was generous, too--- I doubled the recipe and probably could have gotten away with only doubling the tofu or doing 1.5 of the sauce recipe.

• Zero-waste truffle rum balls (Bajaderki)

    Used my blender to grind the cookies, chop the cranberries, and do the mixing. Worked like a charm--also, these are both easy and delicious!
