Notes about Recipes in this book

  • English syrup sour cream cake

    • Halrak on July 04, 2021

A wonderfully delicious cake, steamed, so it it more like a dessert than a cake. I've made it many times, very easy, highly recommend it! Yum!

  • Viennese apple sour cream cake

    • jamejan on May 17, 2015

This is a wonderful cake, especially if made with ginger biscuits. I add more ground ginger nuts to the flour mixture, and also add toasted slivered almonds with the apples. Make sure you don't use low fat sour cream.

  • Lumberjack cake

    • RosieB on September 29, 2015

Easy, tasty, reliable cake. I make this when I dont have a lot of other ingredients or time.

  • Pakistani spice cake

    • debkellie on December 13, 2013

This was a very tasty cake: lovely combination of spices. Keeps well too.

  • Indian yoghurt banana cake

    • FieryFantail on April 29, 2025

Could benefit from some cardamom; next time I will cook at 180º instead of 190º.

  • Poppyseed cheesecake

    • ruthk on January 11, 2019

I own this book and I want to check if there is a printing mistake in the recipe. It calls for 1 Tablespoon of vanilla essence - which seems rather a lot for 1 kg of cheese. Has anyone made this cake? Is 1 Tablespoon too much vanilla?
