  • Kumara, corn and bacon chowder

    • JoD on June 19, 2019

Very tasty chowder. I used creamed corn as I had no whole kernel corn and I made some pork stock using a leg bone from a roast.

Publishers Text

Eat well, spend less is Sophie Gray's Destitute Gourmet philosophy. And that's what the recipes in this book will help you do. Sophie has making gorgeous food and spending very little, down to a fine art. Some of the brilliant chapters in this book include 'Quick Smart - recipes that can be made in under an hour', which includes scrumptious recipes like ravioli with spinach, bacon and ricotta and orange glazed chicken; and 'A handful of rice - seriously frugal food' which includes slow cooker carrot soup and cauliflower and pea curry. Plus there are plenty of other hearty meals and delicious sweets. Sophie's recipes are famous for being really easy and quick to make and great to eat. Families swear by her meals. On top of that this is a stunning book with stylish and inviting photography by Aaron McLean.
