Notes about this book

My copy of this book is the American edition, which gives the author as "Kay Halsey." Both authors show up on many "cuisine of" cookbook titles. I'm not 100% convinced either one is an actual person! It does appear to be the same book, anyway.

Publishers Text

Each of the titles in this series of six culinary journeys explores the influences of geography, climate, culture and tradition that have shaped some of the world's most popular cuisines. They take the reader into the behind-the-scenes world of growers, artisans and chefs, revealing how their passion for their work helps maintain and re-interpret the traditions and flavours of a nation's cuisine. More than 150 recipes are featured, selected to best reflect the unique characteristics of each country's food. Lavishly illustrated with location photographs as well as images of finished dishes and authentic cooking techniques, the "World Kitchen" series is a source of inspiration for the cook and an evocation of a place many people will remember fondly from their travels and others will now yearn to experience. Each volume in the series is a culinary travel guide and cookbook all in one. This title includes special features on aspects of agriculture and food production that spotlight the individual country's traditions of cooking at home and restaurant dining. It is lavishly illustrated with beautiful food and location photographs. Countries included in the series are: France, India, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Thailand.
