    My favorite biscuit recipe in the world is here on page 51: Peppered Buttermilk Biscuits. I leave out the pepper just because, but these are wonderful either way.

      I replaced the buckwheat flour with whole wheat. I’m sure they would have been even better with the buckwheat. Next time I will try blitzing the cooked wild rice in the food processor to allow it to distribute through the batter better.

      It is important to line the baking sheet with foil. You would never be able to clean the pan otherwise. If you think you've used too much pepper, it could still use more!

      A very rich but homey dish. Perfect over fresh biscuits.

      Delicious. It doesn't reheat very well so make only as much as you can eat.
