Can substitute canned tomatoes for fire-roasted canned tomatoes, and serrano chiles, habanero chiles, or any fresh chiles for jalapeño chiles. See recipe for variation.

Where’s the full recipe - why can I only see the ingredients?

Always check the publication for a full list of ingredients. An Eat Your Books index lists the main ingredients and does not include 'store-cupboard ingredients' (salt, pepper, oil, flour, etc.) - unless called for in significant quantity.

This didn’t pop (was the worst out of the 5 salsas we made). Was better the second day. Try again with fresh roasted tomatoes.

We liked this salsa but it was not our favorite. We did not have fire-roasted canned tomatoes which would have made a difference. It was better adding fresh tomatoes to the salsa. The roasted garlic I would increase next time and the roasted chiles were great. Lime juice is key.

Another positive review for this salsa. I roasted a mix of jalapeño & poblano pieces and I agree that the lime juice is key to the final flavour. Lovely with our flank steak tacos.

This has been my go-to salsa recipe for years. Lime juice, for us, is absolutely essential!

We made with habanero and it was insanely spicy. We liked that, but I imagine the serrano option is much more moderated.

Such wonderful flavours from such a quick and easy recipe w so few ingredients. Absolutely delicious We've tried w lime juice and the cider vinegar and prefer the lime juice.
