Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Bok choy and rice noodles with black sesame and spring onion oil

    • Beckiemas on July 12, 2015

I found this to be a very oily recipe - so much so that I placed the meal into a colander to drain out excess oil. It is possible I used lesser amounts of noodles and bok choy which could have contributed to this. Aside from the amount of oil (I used rice bran oil), the flavour was nice and it was an easy recipe.

  • Silverbeet and baked paneer

    • Margaretsmall on November 04, 2013

I didn't have any amchoor but otherwise followed the recipe as specified, with a bit less oil, as I always do. I've made quite a bit of cheese, although never paneer before. His instructions for the paneer are fine, except that salt needs to be added to the curds before they are pressed into a mass. The result is far too bland without. The sauce was tasty, even with the missing ingredient. I served with some steamed rice.

  • Cucumber and gin soup with tomato and avocado

    • Ladyredspecs on December 05, 2015

Easy to make, elegant dish which is refreshing and super delicious

  • Pomegranate, yellow chard and wild rice salad

    • Melanie on October 04, 2014

Despite skipping the pomegranates in this dish the end result was great (although I'd love to make again and include them). I also skipped the saffron. The instructions for cooking the wild rice and rice worked brilliantly.

  • Leek and potato tart with feta

    • Astrid5555 on January 05, 2022

Loved the addition of feta, husband complained about the combination of pastry and potatoes, needs some acid (in our case a green salad with a vinaigrette) to cut through the richness.

  • Cauliflower roasted with panch phoran and fresh turmeric

    • Green_Coconut on December 08, 2020

  • Pickled cherries

    • Ladyredspecs on December 05, 2015

Just do it, Bryant's pickled cherries need about 2 months to reach their best but are super delicious
