Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Honeydew maqui

    • Logan92995 on April 06, 2023

Pretty decent smoothie! Honeydew is definitely the predominant flavor -- I couldn't really taste the lime or coconut that was added, which is unfortunate because honeydew isn't exactly my favorite melon. Still pretty good nonetheless.

  • Strawberry chamomile

    • Logan92995 on April 08, 2023

Very tasty! You can actually taste all of the elements of the smoothie without any of them being overpowering.

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

Agree with Logan92995 - complex and harmonious. The dry edge from the tea combined with strawberry is fantastic.

    • Pandan on July 03, 2024

Really nice combination! Doesn’t need any more sweetener due to the mulberries. Just doesn’t come out as red as in the picture

  • Açaí pumpkin

    • Logan92995 on April 11, 2023

This one I was not a fan of. Although I normally like pumpkin, the texture of this one was kind of off-putting, and I feel that the added dates didn't add much either. The appearance also isn't anything to write home about. Wouldn't make again

  • Orange goji

    • Logan92995 on April 20, 2023

This one is a real winner. Very delicious and full of different flavors, notably the banana and orange. It definitely helps if you are a big fan of those two fruits as I am.

  • Watermelon açaí

    • Logan92995 on April 12, 2023

Very tasty! Could really taste all of the elements in this one -- the watermelon, pomegranate juice, and lemon juice. Unfortunately, I couldn't find unsweetened pomegranate juice near me, so I just threw a handful in my food processor and made some that way.

  • Honeydew maqui with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on April 07, 2023

Tastes identical to the original, which is to say it tastes primarily like honeydew just with the added benefit of wheatgrass added.

  • Strawberry chamomile with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on April 09, 2023

Very tasty like it's parent recipe, just with some added camu powder

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

The dry edge from the tea combined with strawberry is fantastic.

  • Açai pumpkin with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

This one is odd. The flavor was a bit earthy — but not. Sweet — but not. First sip I was not a fan, but it eventually grew on me enough to finish it

  • Orange goji with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on April 28, 2023

Absolutely delicious with the added benefit of chia seeds

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

So far this one is my favorite from this book. Refreshing, filling, and energizing.

    • sosayi on July 20, 2025

Really delicious! Batches well for the freezer (1/2 a recipe fits in a pint jar, just add coconut water to blend)

  • Watermelon açaí with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on April 15, 2023

As good as the non-superfood boost version.

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

      Refreshing and light. And delicious!

  • Maqui berry peach

    • Logan92995 on April 14, 2023

This was fine. Nothing in it really stood out to me. I thought the combination of the peach and vanilla would've been tasty together, but honestly once it was all blended together, there's no one flavor you can really taste. It all combines into a somewhat directionless-flavor concoction.

  • Maqui berry peach with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on April 29, 2023

Better than the non-superfood version. I think the added goji berries elevate this.

    • jvozoff on August 12, 2023

Delicious and refreshing. Used water instead of rice milk.

  • Pineapple papaya

    • Logan92995 on May 11, 2023

Delicious, though the papaya flavor kind of gets lost to the pineapple.

  • Pineapple papaya with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on May 16, 2023

Honestly better than the original. The wheatgrass adds a very nice flavor.

  • Pomegranate orange

    • Logan92995 on May 05, 2023

This was delicious. I'm starting to see a trend here that indicates that orange is my favorite smoothie flavor. This smoothie does a good job of pairing the orange flavor with the cinnamon. Couldn't really taste the pomegranate juice, though, which is surprising considering that there's quite a lot of it and it's pretty sugary.

  • Pomegranate orange with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on May 05, 2023

Tasty as it's non-superfood counterpart, just with the added benefits of 2 Tbsp hempseed.

  • Strawberry kombucha

    • Logan92995 on May 16, 2023

I'm not sure I like the addition of the kombucha to this smoothie. Something about adding a carbonated beverage to a smoothie just doesn't really feel right. It was pretty sour.

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

100% agree with Logan92995 - my original notes just said, Sour.

  • Strawberry kombucha with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on May 27, 2023

Tasted almost identical to it's non-superfood counterpart. I thought the addition of goji berries would make it better, but sadly I couldn't really taste them.

  • Blueberry goji

    • Logan92995 on May 27, 2023

This smoothie was great! All of the ingredients come together well to make a pretty creamy smoothie -- the dates really contributed in this regard. It has a good strawberry taste initially with a nice date and goji aftertaste without either being too overwhelming.

  • Blueberry goji with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on May 30, 2023

This smoothie was also great! All of the ingredients come together well to make a pretty creamy smoothie -- the dates really contributed in this regard. It has a good strawberry taste initially with a nice date and goji aftertaste without either being too overwhelming.

  • Raspberry peach

    • TrishaCP on July 14, 2020

This was a great smoothie (more raspberry forward than peach).

    • Logan92995 on July 05, 2023

Pretty good melding of all the flavors

  • Raspberry peach with superfood boost

    • Logan92995 on July 06, 2023

Tastes comparable to its non-superfood counterpart, which was good. The substitutions of mulberries instead of dates didn't impact the taste nor texture overmuch. But would agree with Trisha in that the raspberry overpowers the peach. I doubled the amount of peach but it was still overshadowed by the raspberries.

  • Cranberry orange

    • Logan92995 on December 14, 2024

Very good, but that's probably attributable to the amount of sugar of this thing. Because of the orange juice, this has a whopping 17g of sugar, so it's probably not surprising it's so good.

  • Coconut goji with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 05, 2023

This was just awful - texture, taste - everything. And I love coconut and goji berries so I thought it was a no brainer. It was gritty/fibery and unpleasant.

  • Peaches & cream with superfood boost

    • TrishaCP on August 13, 2020

This was tasty and was very much the “peaches and cream effect” the author was going for. (I subbed vanilla Greek yogurt for the banana.) I do think that it was a lot of peaches (1.5 cups) per serving.

  • Banana romaine with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on August 02, 2023

This tasted pretty green, but I’m ok with that. Great way to use up those heads of romaine that seem always to be floating around the fridge.

  • Ginger pear with superfood boost

    • sosayi on June 04, 2025

Really fresh tasting smoothie, but also rich and creamy with just the right kick of ginger. Would make again.

  • Mango coconut with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 22, 2023

This tasted a little bit weirdly vegetal at first, but I grew to like it pretty quickly.

  • Chocolate kale with superfood boost

    • sosayi on June 04, 2025

This was fine! If I had the ingredients, I would make it again, perhaps, but I wouldn't search it out. The Mint Chip smoothie (with similar ingredients) was much better!

  • Mint chip

    • KateS27 on January 12, 2026

Used homemade cashew milk instead of rice milk, fresh spinach instead of frozen, and also added some kale. Super refreshing and delicious!

  • Mint chip with superfood boost

    • Pandan on July 11, 2024

Really nice summer smoothie. Had this while being pregnant and wanted something minty. I used dried peppermint leaves and extract instead of fresh mint. Also added some protein powder mixed with Moringa and used soy instead of rice milk.

    • sosayi on June 04, 2025

Delicious smoothie! It tasted almost exactly like the Daily Harvest Mint Cacao smoothie, which was a fun surprise. Would definitely make again.

  • Lemon lime smoothie

    • Pandan on July 16, 2024

Really good refreshing summer smoothie! I used stevia drops and some liquid chlorophyll. Also added a packet of unflavoured LMNT electrolytes. Very tasty, especially with the lemon zest!

  • Sweet pea

    • EmmaJaneDay on December 19, 2016

This was very green, and very minted pea!

  • Mayan chocolate with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on August 12, 2023

I didn’t expect to like this because I’m not a big fan of chocolate and cinnamon together. But the cayenne made it all work together. Will definitely make again.

  • Pistachio cherry

    • jvozoff on August 03, 2023

Delicious! I didn’t have enough cherries so I added some frozen Acai purée. And I almost always add 1/4 tsp chlorella - couldn’t taste it at all. The pistachios have a really nice richness that blends perfectly with the cherries. Will definitely add this to the regular rotation.

  • Pistachio cherry with superfood boost

    • Astrid5555 on January 11, 2016

This is a very good sweet and creamy smoothie with a nice subtle chocolate touch from the cacao powder.

    • EmmaJaneDay on August 15, 2016

I'm in complete agreement. This is yummy.

    • mharriman on July 16, 2019

I didn’t have cocoa powder and increased the pistachio amount a bit. This made for a delicious morning nut and fruit juice. I love pistachios, so it was a especially satisfying.

  • Pineapple maca with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 22, 2023

I enjoyed this one. I didn’t have almond butter, so I threw in some walnut pieces. It was refreshing and pretty filling.

    • sosayi on January 05, 2026

Good! I might have put a bit too much almond butter in, but I’d definitely make it again.

  • Cookie dough

    • TrishaCP on August 26, 2020

I’ve made this twice- both 1/2 servings. The first time I used maca, but I didn’t like the taste so skipped it the second time. (Much better.) The first time I forgot the pecans, and it was much better with them (too sweet otherwise). Even though my second version was much better, I don’t think this will be a repeat for me.

    • Pandan on July 15, 2024

Sounded a bit better than it tasted. This was a bit too rich for me. I got 3 tall glasses out of it and had a hard time even finishing one. Also added a pinch of salt and some unflavoured whey protein.

  • Green tea goji with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 22, 2023

Delicious. I love the smoothies that have tea in them. The dry edge is a nice balance with fruit.

  • Maqui banana with superfood boost

    • jvozoff on July 30, 2023

Simple, refreshing, filling, and delicious. The maqui powder enhances the banana and coconut milk nicely. Will make this one again because I always have the ingredients on hand.

  • Maca oat

    • LomaxHartCreative on September 09, 2021

This was yummy and simple. I don’t like bananas so I omitted them. I added in a date for sweetness!

    • sosayi on May 17, 2025

Very good! Creamy, rich and banana forward, but with nice spiced undertones. Would make again!

  • Tahini mulberry

    • EmmaJaneDay on March 02, 2022

I love this smoothie! It is on high repeat in my house, it's soooo good. If you can get the dried white mulberries, do so. They are delicious on their own as a snack. I also add a couple of handfuls of baby spinach leaves, which makes it a lovely green colour without making it taste too "green". I don't do the "superfood" option of adding the acai berry powder, it is nicest without.

  • Blackberry vanilla with superfood boost

    • TrishaCP on October 09, 2020

This was a nice combination with the blueberries and blackberries. I used almond milk instead of apple juice.

  • Cacao mocha with superfood boost

    • sosayi on September 08, 2025

Really good flavor and creaminess, but the 4 dates was too many. I'd try 2-3 next time, so that it wasn't so overwhelmingly sweet. And maybe add some cauliflower for a bit of vegetal bulk.

    • sosayi on September 10, 2025

Tried this again! Switched to white mulberries to cut the sweetness, which was great, and added some frozen zucchini! Excellent, now.

  • Coconut spice with superfood boost

    • sosayi on May 16, 2025

This was... fine. Nothing unobjectionable, but it tasted really flat and one dimensional. Without any discernible coconut flavor. I added a bit of lime juice and a small splash of maple syrup, which helped, but not sure if I'd bother to remake this one.

  • Red velvet cake with superfood boost

    • sosayi on June 06, 2025

Really tasty chocolate smoothie. Wish it had more veg, so may try to add spinach next time?

  • Cherry vanilla

    • Ajammies on April 02, 2021

I'm a newbie to green smoothies so I left out the wheatgrass powder - this is amazing! I'm sure for someone who's palate is more into green it would be amazing with the wheatgrass powder too, I'm just not quite there!

  • Cherry vanilla with superfood boost

    • sosayi on July 24, 2025

I liked this, but didn’t love it. Maybe a bit more vanilla or a tiny pinch of salt or a hit of lemon? It just fell a bit flat.

    • KateS27 on January 30, 2026

This was tasty! I added some kale, plant-based protein, and some ice. Sometimes I really like the refreshing coconut water base rather than the creaminess of a plant-based milk.

  • Chocolate

    • sosayi on May 15, 2025

Whole family approved. It’s like thick, creamy chocolate milk, tbh. Would make again.

  • Banana berry

    • jvozoff on August 05, 2023

This was thick and fruity. Not bad, but seedier and a bit heavier than the others I’ve tried.

  • Chai

    • jvozoff on August 21, 2023

This was a bit heavy but still quite tasty.

  • Tropical - green variation

    • sosayi on May 15, 2025

Delicious smoothie! Spinach was not noticeable (if that matters to you), but added good veg bulk! Will definitely make again!

    • KateS27 on February 25, 2026

Tasty - added some kale, spinach, and mushroom powder. I thought the tropical smoothie recipe I made yesterday was a bit better though!

  • Mango ginger

    • jvozoff on July 15, 2023

This was refreshing - the taste was oddly earthy, which I didn’t expect. Would make again but wasn’t my favorite.
