  • Breakfast cookies

    • christineakiyoshi on May 24, 2020

Didn’t have dates so subbed figs. The family likes these. Less sweet since it is for breakfast.

  • Almond butter berry bowl

    • femmefocale on April 09, 2019

A decent smoothie bowl. I'd use more almond butter next time, I could barely taste it.

  • Ben's waffles with strawberry butter

    • femmefocale on February 02, 2019

My first failure from Chloe Flavor. Not a single waffle came out right. The way they tore, both sides were very crispy and there seemed to be very little holding it together in the middle. It was like a shell of a waffle. I preheated the iron, greased it, checked it for doneness before opening, experimented with different temperatures and different cooking lengths, and every single waffle stuck to the iron and tore right through the middle. The batter uses a lot of baking powder and I could taste it in the end product. Wouldn't bother making these again.

  • Strawberry butter

    • femmefocale on February 02, 2019

The strawberry butter is a great idea! But I think I'll wing it next time. She doesn't say how big or small your strawberries should be, and my strawberry to butter ratio was off. It didn't really come together and it was runny. Also I used Earth Balance and really wished I used Miyoko's. Next time! It was still a super tasty and fun waffle topping.

  • Chocolate chip banana pancakes

    • femmefocale on April 09, 2019

Loved these. The bananas make the pancakes more dense, but the flavor is great.

    • Hannaha100 on May 08, 2020

I celebrated my 20 month old getting up at a reasonable hour by making breakfast :) These were great! Easy to make, tasted good. Extremely sweet, they didn't really need the extra maple syrup (and definitely not the optional sugar which we didn't use). We got 10 small pancakes from the mixture which was just right.

  • Roasted carrot hummus

    • SherrieM on January 02, 2025

This is great.. Have made it several times.. Makes a great filling for a sandwich..

  • Caesar Brussels sprouts

    • shirofly12 on June 07, 2020

Love this vegan dressing. Much easier to whip up than a regular one with eggs and I always have the ingredients on hand. It does come out quite thick so I do thin it with almond or soy milk. Cooked the sprouts on the air fryer. Fast and easy!

  • Potato leek soup

    • christineakiyoshi on March 21, 2021

Very good recipe, made a double batch. Would only recommend adding a squeeze of lemon at the end of cooking to add some brightness.

    • msl521 on November 02, 2022

Agreed that some lemon juice was necessary. I used half a lemon.

  • Peanut kale crunch salad

    • karliekramer on May 04, 2026

There is SO much flavor in this dressing and tempeh — it makes plain rice and kale turn into a really special dinner that comes together in minutes. A new staple recipe. I reduced the maple syrup in the dressing by 1 tablespoon and it was still balanced. Husband doesn’t like his savory dishes too sweet.

  • Tortilla soup

    • Ajammies on April 14, 2026

So good. I’ve made as the recipe is written, also made in a modified format. Modified with no blending. Delicious! Modified by adding 1/2 bag of cassoulet beans to a double batch (did not add diced tomatoes because I didn’t have) and blended partially. All are delicious.

  • Brussels sprouts tacos

    • lmhester on August 14, 2023

This recipe is delicious. The only change I made was to only include one tablespoon of agave nectar on the chimmichuri rather than two (which I felt was just right for my tastes) and I also served it with black beans. The meal was delicious!

  • Sloppy Chlo's

    • christineakiyoshi on May 07, 2023

Really good! I made a few modifications based on what I had on hand. Would probably reduce chili powder next time.

  • Beet fettuccine Alfredo with basil ricotta

    • karliekramer on March 08, 2023

this is the kind of recipe that you think about for a long time after you make it. I was enchanted by the beautiful color, silky texture, and delicious basil ricotta. makes a great Valentine's day dinner.

  • Takeout sesame noodles

    • karliekramer on May 07, 2026

Awesome. I added julienned carrots and cucumbers which i salted and squeezed out so the wouldn't water down the dish. Ate it cold. Only used about 2/3 of the sauce which was plenty.

  • Smoked shiitake bacon

    • KateS27 on June 04, 2026

This was yummy, but not as delicious as her shiitake bacon recipe from her Italian book. That is the one I’ll keep going back to. This is still good though!

  • Chinese eggplant with spicy garlic sauce

    • amgenove on September 06, 2023

Easy and delicious! Love this spicy flavor!

  • Firehouse chili with cornbread muffins

    • Ajammies on March 22, 2022

Very good! We used Rancho Gordo Whipple Beans and did half smoked salt. Delicious!

  • General Tso's tofu

    • skvalentine on June 05, 2025

      Delicious! Will definitely make again

  • Mango-glazed tempeh

    • karliekramer on May 07, 2026

I used apricot instead of mango and omitted the additional maple syrup, as the jam has tons of sugar already. I also doubled the amount of tempeh and there was still plenty of sauce. Was worried hubs would think it was too sweet, but he loved! Next time I’d add a little more sriracha.

  • Oatmeal smoothie

    • skvalentine on June 19, 2025

This was delicious! Would maybe soak the dates next time to help them blend easier. Great flavor.

  • Lemon cheesecake with wild blueberry sauce

Publishers Text

The successful restaurant owner and celebrated vegan chef makes her highly anticipated return to the cookbook world with 125 original recipes that focus on simplicity in the steps and big flavor in the food.

Chloe Coscarelli has been vegan since 2004--a time when veggie burgers were still feared (and maybe disgusted) by the general public. Since then, she has been at the forefront of the vegan revolution: Chloe believes that vegan can still mean mouthwatering foods, and she practices what she preaches. In Chloe Flavor, Chloe showcases new approaches to veganism with dishes like Maple Bacon Benedict, Hawaiian Teriyaki-Pineapple Burger, and Cajun Jambalaya with Scallion Biscuits. These dishes are playful, colorful, and supremely tasty. Best of all, she's made them as fast and as easy as possible because that's exactly how she likes to cook. Vegans will delight in Chloe's creativity--and carnivores won't miss the meat one bit.
