Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Frozen coconut and nougat slice

    • debkellie on November 27, 2017

Nothing to write home about, but a simple, easy dessert. Second bite: add some fresh raspberries & extra cream and almonds at serving time - lifted to a nice dinner party dessert.

  • Prosecco-brined turkey breast with Brussels sprouts and speck

    • debkellie on November 26, 2017

Why waste a bottle of Prosecco? Just needed a basic brine.. yes it was flavoursome, but that didn't come from the prosecco!

  • Potato and herb pull-apart bread wreath

    • debkellie on November 26, 2017

When she says "allow a 3cm overhang" for a "24 cm cake tin" she must have old yeast!! needs either a larger tin, or a 6 cm collar of substantial style - not jut baking paper .. at the 25 min point I checked the oven as it was smelling great.. opened it to find an overflowing tin, with pull aparts on the oven floor.. rescued by putting a triple layer foil collar around the outside of the tin..... excellent flavoured bread though - well received for a late thanksgiving/early Christmas family lunch !

    • debkellie on November 27, 2017

And don't ditch the potato skins.. deep fry them, season with flaky salt and use as dippers! Yum!

    • debkellie on December 24, 2019

This time around I reduced the ingredients by a third.. worked perfectly (didn't escape the tin this year!) and still enough to serve 14...with leftovers that will make for a great strata

  • Honey almond Hasselback butternut pumpkin

    • debkellie on November 27, 2017

Could become my "go to" for roast pumpkin .. even pumpkin haters loved it for Thanksgiving!

  • Raspberry swirl Pavlova wreath
