uses Australian Tbsp (20 ml). On last page of book in very small print at the bottom of the page it states, "MEASURES GUIDE: We have used 20 ml (4 teaspoon) tablespoon measures. If you are using 15 ml (3 teaspoon) tablespoon add an extra teaspoon of the ingredient for each tablespoon specified." i bought the book in the U.K., so I'm surprised they did not note this in a more obvious place.

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Roman porchetta sandwiches

    • stockholm28 on January 03, 2016

This was very good and extremely simple. The spice rub was very nice and it smelled wonderful while cooking. This was the first time I've used a rack to roast pork shoulder and it was great as the fat dripped off into the roasting pan and the edges of the porchetta were crispy. I started with a 2.2 lb boston butt and the cooked roast weighed less than a lb.

This was a quick easy-to-put-together meal that rivaled any take out place. To reduce the clutter on my shelves, I mixed soy sauce and brown sugar for the kecap manis. Family pleaser as well.

  • Lychee & ginger granita with raspberries

    • pensky on May 23, 2026

      For a hot day, unbeatable.

  • Cauliflower & tomato curry

    • stockholm28 on November 11, 2015

This is very good and it is a very healthy, low-fat, and flavorful meal. I liked the spicy tomato sauce. She notes that you can make the sauce in advance and then reheat and add the cauliflower and cook. This worked well.

  • Coconut & tamarind salmon curry with mustard seeds

    • lou_weez on October 01, 2018

I tasted the curry after I added the tamarind puree and it was way too sour. As I wasn't sure how to correct it I threw it out and started again - not happy!! Second time around I only added 1 teaspoon and felt that was plenty. It was an ok tasting curry - nothing special. Won't be wasting my time or ingredients on this dish again.

@lou_weez - you may have used Tamarind Paste which is stronger than puree. 2 teaspoons of paste was good and tasted great
