Served the Orange Dream Pound Cake to my Afternoon Tea group; they loved it. The cake was still mildly warm inside when it was served. Changes I made to the recipe: 1) added lots of Grande Marnier to the Orange Glaze along with the fresh squeezed orange juice 2) sprinkled dried unsweetened shredded coconut on top of the glaze. A final note... made lots of glaze so that the cake was thickly and entirely covered.

  • Aphrodisiac cherry vanilla almond cake

Added slivered almonds as decoration. Otherwise followed the recipe exactly, and it turned out perfectly for me, a beginner baker’s first Bundt cake. I’d want to cut down the sugar next time, if possible - this is a very sweet cake especially once you add the icing (I used the almond icing recipe in this book).

Very sweet. Might try again with less sugar (and possibly more cocoa). Also I could have used more red colouring.

I made this for a work party as there are several vegans and I was quite impressed! Vegan baking can be a minefield but this cake is spot on. You cannot tell that it's missing eggs and dairy. I also made the book's vegan cream cheese frosting. 100% recommended.

Excellent, albeit a bit sweeter than I'd normally make. Next time I will adjust slightly but overall delicious. I used on the book's Vegan Red Velvet cake, also recommended.
