Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Wonton soup

    • BrendaD1962 on September 23, 2023

Another hit from this cookbook. I followed the recipe, except substituted Better Than Bouillon Garlic Broth for the chicken broth, used frozen mini wontons instead of making my own and added the optional chicken. Fantastic! A delicious flavourful broth with chunks of chicken and delicate little pork wontons. We loved this soup and two of us polished off half of it (if not more) at supper tonight. Will definitely be repeating this recipe again and again.

  • Chicken gnocchi soup

    • darkpizza on March 21, 2026

Possibly the best soup I've ever made, absolutely delicious.

  • Creamy Cajun tortellini

    • brenda_bv2nm8 on March 08, 2026

Good flavor. Added the optional shrimp and half the suggested cayenne pepper.

  • Chicken shawarma rice

    • BrendaD1962 on September 09, 2023

This was absolutely delicious. The flavours are amazing. I already can’t wait to make it again. Definitely make the white garlic sauce to go with it, it’s so good!

  • Fire fried rice

    • BrendaD1962 on August 09, 2023

This rice was delicious! I made 1/2 a recipe to go with the Kung Pao Chicken (from this same cookbook) and because I was serving it with the chicken, I left out the ground pork. I would love to make it again with the addition of the pork and the optional Japanese-style yum yum fire sauce. We loved it.

  • Chicken pot pie

    • sheila_4posgp on May 02, 2026

This was really good. I only had 1 pastry sheet, so I used the leftover filling for a pot pie soup, which was great.

  • Kung pao chicken

    • BrendaD1962 on August 09, 2023

Very good! It was my first time making Kung Pao Chicken and it came out beautifully. I served it with the Fire Fried Rice from the same cookbook. I would make it again.
