Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Ras el hanout salmon with bean hummus

    • hbakke on August 08, 2023

The recipe instructions could have used better editing. The recipe instructs you to heat the oven, but nothing in the recipe goes into the oven. Besides that issue, the ras el hanout made a nice rub for the salmon and we enjoyed the carrot, rocket, and bean salad. I've never loved hummus and I'm now realizing it is the chickpea flavor/texture I don't enjoy because this butter bean hummus was delicious. I would make this again.

  • Cabbage aglio e olio

    • CourtneyT on February 08, 2025

Quick, easy and delicious. I pulled this together in minutes and it was really satisfying and filling. Will definitely add this to my list of recipes for those days when I don’t have much time to cook.

  • Sticky spicy turkey rice bowls

    • sarahj22 on June 23, 2024

This was really tasty and quick to come together. It says it's good for a weeknight, which is true, but be aware it uses quite a lot of dishes: a pan each for the mince and fried eggs, a bowl for the Pak choi, and a rice cooker/pot for the rice. I would make this again, but in future would plan to make this when I have leftover rice from another dish. It would be too dry without the egg and kimchi, so be generous with the latter.

  • Robyn's sticky aubergine rice bowl

    • hbakke on May 24, 2023

Good flavors in the eggplant mixture, but I wish the author would have used an approximate weight measurement for the eggplant. I bought 3 of the smallest ones at the store and that seemed to be about double the amount that should have been used. I subbed green cabbage for red cabbage.

  • Sticky mango paneer wraps

    • dprostrollo on January 05, 2026

      Used Poppy’s flatbreads too.

  • Tamarind & tomato salmon curry

    • Beth891 on February 06, 2024

I made some changes - made half quantities as serving 2 adults and 1x 3 year old. I added some leftover roast carrot (diced) and wilted chopped spinach rather than the green beans. I swapped the spices for 1.5tsp garam masala, 1tsp turmeric, 1tsp ground cardamom and added no chilli or coriander. I added a little more garlic than recipe and cheated by small dicing the onion, sauteing and then grating in the garlic and ginger and adding the spices rather than making a paste. I also added a tbsp of tomato puree and a TSP or so of honey at the end. Rest of the ingredients were as recipe. Very tasty, really zesty and fresh and quick to make too.

  • Baked miso chicken schnitzel with kimchi mayo

    • Saramay on February 08, 2026

Used pork loin instead of chicken Corn flour instead or breadcrumbs Coconut aminos instead of miso

  • Fish piccata with fennel salad

    • Lepa on October 18, 2023

The fish is good and the salad is, too. This was quick and simple and a nice combination of flavors and textures.
