Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Ginger-lime chicken and herb salad

    • Logan92995 on March 17, 2023

Very easy dish to put together and tasty. It reminded me a lot of Bun Cha (Vietnamese pork dish) and lo and behold, with the exception of using chicken instead of pork, they utilize almost all of the same ingredients. Sadly I neglected to use cilantro for this dish, which, while the dish was good on it's own, I think cilantro would have kicked it up an additional notch. Served with a side of jasmine rice.

  • Fettuccine with asparagus and prosciutto

    • Kinhawaii on April 04, 2023

This was nice & easy but rich. We used dried pasta so cooked the asparagus separately. Would make again.

  • Thai-style vegetable stir-fry with garlic and black pepper

    • clkandel on July 02, 2024

Simple and fast to make. Flavors blend perfectly.

  • Turkish chickpea salad

    • Skamper on March 02, 2022

We both liked this. Made a half batch, with a heaping half tsp of cumin and a bit extra salt. Went a bit heavier in the onion and next time would cut back. Really good.

  • Broken phyllo cake with orange and bay

    • sarahawker on February 28, 2022

Very sweet, yet "light" feeling. The cardamom really came through in the glaze. Even the teenagers loved this. Quite easy to make too.

  • Stir-fried cumin tofu

    • sarahawker on February 28, 2022

Simple and a nice change from our usual tofu recipe. I added green beans at the end of cooking and tossed with the tofu and sauce until just crisp/tender.

    • kitchen_chick on March 01, 2022

I substituted 2 tsp Mala's shao kao spice blend (xinjiang style bbq spices) for the cumin plus a bit of cushed cumin seeds and increased the pepper flakes to 1 tsp (I used Sichuanese pepper flakes).
