Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Italian chicken sausage and white beans with escarole

    • Logan92995 on August 08, 2023

This was really tasty! I was a bit hesitant to make it due to the lack of spices in the recipe, but it was actually quite flavorful. The chicken sausage and beans really pull a lot of weight in this dish, and the escarole is a nice subtle bitter flavor. The grated parmesan on top was an added bonus to the flavor.

  • Cauliflower and chickpea salad with cilantro-mint dressing

    • Logan92995 on January 02, 2026

Much better than I anticipated! Initially upon cooking the cauliflower, I was left with a lot of water and was afraid that the dish was going to be overly watery and mushy. However, it actually came out tasting perfectly good. No overt modifications needed. Maybe a little more garlic and salt than the recipe suggests, and reducing the amount of water for steaming.

  • Citrus-sesame roasted sweet potatoes with pistachios

    • Nancy402 on January 29, 2023

We really enjoyed this. A vibrant dish for a cold winter night, full of flavours and texture. The caraway coriander combination was uncommon, but complemented the dish nicely.

  • Hungarian pepper stew with tomatoes and sausage (Lecsó)

    • Acarroll on December 30, 2022

My husband is Hungarian and said this was almost exactly like his Grandma's stew. While I enjoyed the broth and the flavor of the sausage, I really couldn't get past the texture of the big chunks of pepper. My husband said this was authentic though, so I'll attribute that to my personal preference.

  • Thai cashew chicken

    • LindaMM1 on January 15, 2023

This was great. I added a little more water at the end and used a mix of chicken breast and thighs. Will make it again.

Great recipe. I used 1 tsp of corn starch in place of the flour and it worked out great. Next time I'd try one sliced fresh thai bird chili in place of the pepper flakes as an experiment. Served with stir fried snow peas.

Excellent recipe. The marinade for the chicken was delicious as well as the stir-fry sauce. A little on the spicy side if served with the recommend arbol chiles.

    • estanzler on August 15, 2024

This was great. The sauce had just enough of a kick from the chilis without being spicy. Would definitely make this again.

  • Lebanese flatbreads with spiced beef, tomatoes, and tahini

    • Shewi128 on March 20, 2023

Super easy to make, and the meat was highly flavored. Also, the flatbreads were soft and a little crispy. The hardest thing about the recipe was separating the dough into 12 pieces, but you didn't have to roll them out with a pin separately. I would make this again, and I'd also make the flatbreads with different toppings.

  • Pasta with tomato, onion and butter

    • amgenove on January 07, 2023

Great recipe, but not great as leftovers. Gotta eat it fresh!

    • Shewi128 on January 19, 2023

I made this with fresh spaghetti, but it really didn't make it any better. It was just kind of meh. I said it tasted like elevated spaghetti-os, and once we got that in our head, we couldn't taste anything different. I wouldn't make this again. Luckily it didn't take much time or ingredients.
