Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Beer bread

    • cheryl_9rgvpq on January 26, 2026

Made for St. Patrick's Day. Very good!

  • Jo's pear bread

    • hbakke on October 16, 2023

I used a 9x9" pan, so baked for 35 minutes and subbed pecans for walnuts. The pear flavor was pretty subtle, but the bread was moist and had a nice flavor. I was gifted several pounds of pears and this recipe was a nice use for them.

  • Dutch baby

    • rachel_a40gn2 on January 10, 2026

This was fine flavor wise, but it sadly didn't puff. I'm not really sure why. I'll try it again and see if I can troubleshoot.

  • Hash brown casserole

    • heyksquared on April 26, 2026

I have made this recipe countless times, and there is no one who does not love it. It can easily be halved, or made in advance. I prefer to make it the night before, and then throw in the oven in the morning.

  • Greek lemon chicken soup

    • cheryl_9rgvpq on January 26, 2026

      Flavorful and delicious

    • nabela_vgwbdo on April 23, 2026

Used pearl couscous so that it wouldn't absorb too much liquid overnight.

  • Cast-iron spicy street corn

    • michmom on May 10, 2023

Always looking for new appetizers and this one was very popular as a dip. Super easy to make. Followed recipe except no cilantro as husband not a fan. Also found that cotija cheese clumped so have found rather than crumble it, I grated it on a rasp. Serve with scoop chips rather than regular tortilla chips. Definite addition to my round of appetizers

  • Spinach enchiladas

    • tiffany_huazfl on May 21, 2026

The cheese also works well as a stand alone dip. I prefer to add meat eg seasoned chicken

  • Buffalo chicken sliders

    • kathy_qhsnz3 on February 26, 2026

Chicken was so delicious! Will absolutely make again!

  • Chicken fried rice

    • tamara_9khuic on March 12, 2026

Easy, yummy comfort food. Great use for leftover chicken and rice.

    • audrey_7eulf8 on May 21, 2026

Making the rice the day before is key. I used frozen mixed veggies and it still worked.

  • Braised short ribs with white cheddar mash and asparagus

    • dan_65pxm6 on May 18, 2026

I’ve made this a few times and usually grill the asparagus, or sear it on a ridged cast iron pan. The char adds a note my family prefers over boiled stems.

  • Beef tenderloin with mushroom tarragon sauce

    • francine_15tjwt on April 28, 2026

Amazing! I paired with roasted baby gold potatoes and some steamed broccoli. The cook time will vary based on your steak thickness. Use a meat thermometer!

  • Pork chops with apricot honey chipotle glaze

    • cheryl_9rgvpq on January 26, 2026

Great, but next time I'll Salt the near before I marinate it.

  • Lobster rolls

  • Garlic shrimp over Parmesan risotto

    • cheryl_9rgvpq on January 26, 2026

Perfect. ?? Made for our anniversary.

  • Peanut butter pie with chocolate crust

    • estanzler on February 28, 2024

Came together pretty quickly other than chilling. Everyone was a huge fan of it. Pay attention to where butter is separated when creating the crust.

  • Brownie cookies

    • craftycarmen on June 10, 2023

Amazing. Like brownie edges with the right amount of chew. Honestly kind of dangerous! Mine yielded 30 cookies instead of 35. I gave the sheet a few taps out of the oven to flatten them a bit.

    • Summerlandsky on May 30, 2025

Very Good! Was jonesing for an easy chocolate chewy cookies and this fit the bill. They do not puff up like her picture, but has a nice crackle top. Dough definitely needs chilling first as it’s a brownie batter consistency. I found it easier to chill the whole bowl instead of scooping out and then chilling. I must have used a bigger scoop because I only got 20 cookies. Not sure I’d want them any smaller either. I prefer them not undercooked so 15-16 minutes with my bigger cookies. Next time I will sprinkle with flaked salt after they get out of oven.
