Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Cranberry and orange bread

    • southerncooker on November 24, 2019

I love cranberries. This was tart and delicious. The orange juice, zest and pecans paired well with the cranberries. I used baking spray and it came out perfectly. Easy to throw together and was done in 45 minutes.

  • Lemon poppy seed bread

    • hbakke on February 20, 2023

Very nice lemon poppy seed bread. The glaze adds the perfect amount of sweetness. I think it was a little overbaked at 45 minutes, so I would check it sooner next time. I would make this again.

  • Banana bread with peanut butter glaze

    • ToPieFor on January 23, 2020

Absolutely delicious! Lovely banana flavour, easy to mix together, and a huge hit at my office. Terrific for breakfast, snacking, or dessert after a meal. I baked this a bit longer than the suggested time and it came out perfectly. Peanut butter glaze was a nice addition. A definite go to recipe to impress.

  • Chocolate chip scone bread

    • Kristjudy on August 18, 2019

Uniquely different approach to making a chocolate chip scone....easy and delicious. Followed recipe exactly as written.

  • Cinnamon pecan breakfast

    • goodfruit on April 18, 2024

Lovely for either breakfast or snack or dessert! I have sometimes subbed in a different Streusel recipe to replace the one with 3/4 cups pecans for that person who can't do nuts, poor them. This is always well received wherever I take it. My husband takes this to work for Shift Meetings and always comes home with compliments and crumbs :) For the top: 1 c. flour 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 c. butter 1 tsp. cinnamon For the middle 1/2 c. brown sugar 2 tbsp. flour 2 tsp. cinnamon 2 tbsp. melted butter

  • Double cornbread--stuffed with chili

    • mjes on September 24, 2021

Self-rising? First I had to convert normal flour and cornmeal to self-rising. I have never had a self-rising flour in my hands, in fact never heard of self-rising cornmeal. But once I resolved that problem, the recipe is quite easy. The results of a cornbread ring with a chili filling is rather fun especially with the sour cream and onions. (Yes, I skipped the Fritos.) The recipe is worth repeating.

  • Cream cheese pound cake

    • Kristjudy on August 18, 2019

This is an exceptional cream cheese pound cake. I followed the recipe exactly as written. Time was perfect as was the cake.
