  • Roasted chicken in stew

    • ozfoodie on April 12, 2023

This dish was simple and delicious – a gorgeous spice mix for the crispy chicken skin, lovely succulent meat, and a delectable, saucy stew to cook it in. A keeper.

    • katiesue28 on January 27, 2025

This was very delicious, though I will try adding less broth next time. The stew ended up being a bit watery, though tasted delicious.

  • Grilled chicken in caramelised onion & lemon sauce (Poulet yassa)

    • celesteprevost on March 09, 2025

Delicious. Also good with swaps: parsley for cilantro, thyme for oregano, scotch bonnet for habanero.

    • catmummery on March 17, 2025

delicious. The caramelised onions and peppers make for an almost sweet sauce and the marinated chicken is super tender. Definitely going to be on the regular list

  • Celebration lamb tagine with raisins, honey & almonds (Mrouzia)

    • pamacea on August 30, 2025

I substituted dried cranberries for raisins and peanuts for almonds because that is what I had on hand. I always lengthen the cooking time of lamb to “falling apart”. Would definitely make again!

  • Juicy berbere meatballs in tomato sauce

    • jenburkholder on February 24, 2024

Really good and super simple. Subbed chickpea flour for breadcrumbs, since I didn’t have panko in the pantry. Served with homemade fettuccine and a green salad.

    • catmummery on August 04, 2025

deeeeelicious. the berbere spice takes a while to make as does the butter but the meatballs are easy and the sauce yummy.

  • Paradise prawns in Creole sauce (Rougaille)

    • JuneHawk on July 11, 2025

This is absolutely fantastic. Truly, incredible. The flavor of the makrut leaves really comes through.

  • Tomato & strawberry salad with hibiscus & Scotch bonnet balsamic dressing

    • Nrnarayan on August 01, 2025

Salad was great but the scotch bonnet oil didn't add anything. I would use another chile infused oil next time

    • Sylfea on December 28, 2025

Made this without hibiscus syrup but with everything else as listed. It was ok but not amazing (if I can find hibiscus will try again though).

  • Berbere potatoes with carrot & spinach

    • jenburkholder on February 24, 2024

Great, simple mixed veg for an Ethiopian meal.

  • Seafood jollof

    • catmummery on April 20, 2024

absolutely delicious. Loved this and for my first attempt was pretty pleased with end result. will be making again

  • Honeycomb pancakes with orange blossom & honey syrup

    • ozfoodie on May 08, 2023

We loved these! The syrup was unusual and delicious, and the pancakes themselves were easy to make and quick to cook. Just gorgeous!

    • Downerh12 on May 03, 2026

Delicious but made less than the 10 stated - enough batter for 6 large ones. Found it worked better done in tiny one egg frying pans to make stacks of small planks rather than fewer big ones. Was tricky not to burn the bottoms when done in larger pan

  • Scotch bonnet & turmeric oil

    • Nrnarayan on August 01, 2025

I can't get scotch bonnet so substituted haberneros. Really wasn't impressed with this, didn't taste like much of anything.
