  • Pink hummus

    • angrygreycat on September 04, 2018

Made this over the weekend for part of a "board" dinner. Really easy, nice tasting hummus that adds beautiful color to a spread. Served it with a variety of crackers, toasted pita bread, raw veg, nuts, cheeses, apricots and a couple other dips. Definitely would make again.

  • Charred romaine wedges with tarragon-buttermilk dressing

    • mjes on September 16, 2021

The dressing is inspired - it perfectly melds with the charred romaine. This salad is too good to be limited to boards.

  • Tomato-thyme jam

    • aeb on January 31, 2026

This is the second time I made this and I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. I will make it again in peak tomato season (my tomatoes were winter ones ??) and increase the amount of thyme. Overall it is really nice and I always love a bright, savory addition to a board!

  • Whipped feta with black sesame seeds

    • SpatulaCity on February 13, 2023

Tasty but needed more heavy cream to make it spreadable/dip consistency. Added some ground sumac for dimension

  • Crème fraîche deviled eggs

    • SpatulaCity on February 13, 2023

I’m sure this has more to do with the (lack of) quality of my white wine vinegar, but the vinegar taste completely overwhelmed the taste of the filling. Not pleasant. Next time I’d only add to taste, or use lemon juice, or something like an apple cider vinegar, classic pickle juice, etc..

  • Lemon-herb white bean dip

    • angrygreycat on September 04, 2018

Made this over the weekend as part of a "board" dinner, along with the Pink Hummus also in this book. This was a nice tasting white bean dip. Excellent spread on toasted pitas. Would also be good on crostini or as a base in a sandwich or wrap. Would make again!

  • Fondue spread

    • kateiscoooking on October 23, 2021

This was quite good. We used deli ham as our meat and I added cubed/cooked redskin potatoes. And, it was a lot of fun to get the fondue pot out of storage!
