Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Green banana and eggplant curry

    • DulcieD on March 05, 2015

Loved this, even though I used white peppercorns instead of coriander seeds !!

  • Olive-oil poached cod with Mediterranean salad

    • mcvl on September 14, 2012

Make this! Make this right away! A delicious dish, and easy as can be. I didn't serve the cod in one piece atop the salad as recommended; instead I hacked it up (after I had already oil-poached it) and mixed it in with the green beans. Perfect combination of flavors, can hardly wait to make it again.

  • Kerry Fox's chicken and barley dinner

    • sharifah on June 22, 2012

I really wanted to like this recipe, as it appeared easy and healthy. But it was bland and a waste of ingredients, hence the 1-star. There were too much red onions, it killed the garlic flavour or any other flavour. The pearl barley didn't do anything to the dish, the oven temperature stated was too low so it took a long time to cook the vegetables. Very disappointing - I won't be making this again

  • Lamb leg coconut curry with green beans and kumara on herbed rice

    • CamillaC on November 15, 2014

Used one large red chilli without seeds and next time I would use two and add a little salt. This is a delicious recipe We used lamb shoulder instead of leg which worked well too.

  • Roast pork belly à la Anna Hansen

    • DulcieD on February 03, 2014

Worth all the effort, but need to reduce the amount of salt. I did brine for 36 hours so this may have been the issue too. Fab flavours

  • Venison dumpling stew with chorizo

    • DulcieD on September 11, 2015

Loved this and kids did too. There was left over Vegas etc so whizzed it up for a pasta sauce great.

With an uncanny ability to successfully fuse ingredients from the far corners of the world, New Zealand's Peter Gordon has won international acclaim for his decidedly independent approach to cooking. Peter Gordon's World Kitchen features more than 200 of Chef Gordon's diverse and eclectic dishes, including Carrot, Apricot, and Pinenut Fritters; Spicy Black Bean and Peanut Salsa; Pan-Fried Salmon and Chorizo with Tomato and Basil; Veal Chops with Vanilla-Braised Butter Beans; and Banana and Ginger Cheesecake with Lime and Clove Cream.
