Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Italian herb bread

    • IowanCorn on June 29, 2022

It makes a decent loaf of bread. The crust is soft, and not crunchy at all. The sauteing the herbs before adding them to the bread machine really adds to the flavor of the bread.

  • Sweet potato bread

    • IowanCorn on December 12, 2025

A vivid orange from the potatoes, the bread is not overly sweet with a nice tight crumb. A good way to use up leftover potatoes from the holidays.

  • Pumpkin pecan bread

    • IowanCorn on December 12, 2025

A nice loaf - slightly sweet, but more towards the sandwich side than the sweet quick bread of most pumpkin breads. Tasty with a smear of butter, or as a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

  • Cranberry orange bread

    • IowanCorn on December 15, 2024

A good loaf, but it's more a sandwich bread than snack/dessert bread. The recipe does mention that the dough would be dry to start, and it was, but the cranberries would add liquid and they did. So, be patient, it does come together.

  • Almond poppyseed bread

    • IowanCorn on June 29, 2022

It makes a decent loaf of bread, but 3 tbsp of poppyseeds for a 1 1/2 lb. loaf is overdoing it. I think using 2 would be fine, as the loaf was over-"peppered" with the poppyseeds.

  • Whole wheat potato cloverleaf rolls

    • IowanCorn on December 12, 2024

A really tasty roll, and easy to make. I used a melon baller to make the balls for the cloverleaf, and a muffin tin, and while they were a little rustic looking, it worked very nicely.

  • Garlic pepper potato rolls

    • IowanCorn on February 03, 2025

I cut the black pepper back to just a teaspoon and I am really glad I did, because even with that reduction, the pepper threatened to take over any other taste in the bread. It went well with the bean soup, but otherwise, I'd be tempted to cut the pepper even further back.

    • ash_2fquo3 on January 16, 2026

These were a great way to use leftovers and stayed fresh and soft.

  • Calas

    • ash_2fquo3 on January 16, 2026

These came out a bit wet (dough wise) and oily. Would tweak the recipe and try again.
