    Felt like having something with chocolate and raspberries, so I did a recipe search on Eat Your Books, and found this one from a cookbook I haven't used in a while. Recipe turned out great! Quick and easy to put together, and the brownies are excellent. Elegant flavor, dark and delicious with a lovely crispy top.

• Classic snickerdoodles

    I made these for my teen daughter's bookclub at school. I didn't grow up eating snickerdoodles, so I don't really have anything to compare them with. Rosenberg says they are subtle, but I felt they were too subtle, and would increase the cinnamon if I made them again. Regardless, they weren't bad. However, the kids at the bookclub didn't eat many of them (she was the only one to bring anything). She said they prefer store-bought (sigh...)!

    Spectacular failure. Spread horribly despite being chilled. Broke apart. Shaping instructions are very strange. Crumbs Tate good though.

    These were one of my favorite treats years ago--I need to revisit it soon! Make sure your macadamias haven't turned--the oil in them makes them go rancid rather quickly. A 9" square pan makes 16 brownies.
