Have not made a single cookie from this book that was not absolutely excellent!

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Coconut dainties

    • krobbins426 on December 10, 2011

Spectacular failure. Spread horribly despite being chilled. Broke apart. Shaping instructions are very strange. Crumbs Tate good though.

  • Pumpkin whoopee pies

    • krobbins426 on December 11, 2011

Worked pretty well. Recipe made more than I thought.

  • Sacher tortes

    • cougargal on December 31, 2015

      These are sacher torte cookies

  • White chocolate macadamia brownies

    • Bloominanglophile on October 06, 2013

These were one of my favorite treats years ago--I need to revisit it soon! Make sure your macadamias haven't turned--the oil in them makes them go rancid rather quickly. A 9" square pan makes 16 brownies.

  • Rosie's oatmeal cookies

    • Bloominanglophile on October 06, 2013

Made these in 1998--they earned a "Good" rating.

  • Classic snickerdoodles

    • Bloominanglophile on March 31, 2014

I made these for my teen daughter's bookclub at school. I didn't grow up eating snickerdoodles, so I don't really have anything to compare them with. Rosenberg says they are subtle, but I felt they were too subtle, and would increase the cinnamon if I made them again. Regardless, they weren't bad. However, the kids at the bookclub didn't eat many of them (she was the only one to bring anything). She said they prefer store-bought (sigh...)!

  • Chocolate soufflé brownies

    • Bloominanglophile on October 06, 2013

Very rich, as reflected in the number of servings this recipe makes. A 9" square pan makes 36 brownies!

  • Bourbon brownies

    • Bloominanglophile on October 06, 2013

Another rich brownie from this book--a 9" square pan makes 36 brownies. I also thought these were easy to produce.

  • Chocolate raspberry brownies

    • Bloominanglophile on October 06, 2013

Chocolate and raspberry--always a lovely combination! This is baked in a 9" square pan, making 16 brownies.

    • bwhip on August 06, 2018

Felt like having something with chocolate and raspberries, so I did a recipe search on Eat Your Books, and found this one from a cookbook I haven't used in a while. Recipe turned out great! Quick and easy to put together, and the brownies are excellent. Elegant flavor, dark and delicious with a lovely crispy top.
