    #pudcbakeoff Unsure if my cake pan was flameproof, I cooked the topping in a saucepan. The volume of batter seemed large, so I used a pan with 3" high sides and think that was a good call. The cake rose quite high. Baking time was 48 min. It unmolded cleanly. There was a little too much cake relative to fruit, but the cake was good with a soft texture, if on the sweet side. Overall a good cake.

    The recipe doesn't say what to do with the drained matzoh; I stirred them into the eggs. Not having had this dish before, I didn't quite know what to expect, but was a bit underwhelmed. Some sour cream and sea salt perked up the flavor. Some other recipes call for chicken or duck fat, which I think would help.
