      This recipe amps your rice up with layers of flavor and is delicious as a side dish with salmon or fish and chicken. Be careful what kind of rice you use though. The first time I made it I used basmati rice and it was just a bit clumpy when it was finished cooking. The second time I used jasmine rice and ended up with a delicious rice porridge that everyone loved. Next time I am going to try some old-fashioned long grain white rice that should stand up better to the cooking technique and cooking time.

      Very good. Needs more salt, or perhaps some soy sauce. I'll bet these would be good fried in salted butter.

      Everyone who commented on this last night liked it much better than I did. I thought that adding clam juice to mascarpone didn't quite work -- it seemed like it was on the verge of separating. Also, the flavor was quite bland. I ended up adding more clams and some Old Bay Seasoning to correct the flavors. I would not repeat this recipe.

      I love to make this when I want a little chocolate cake with frosting. Frosting is good on cupcakes too. Yummy!
