Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Thick chickpea and chorizo soup (Sopa de garbanzos y chorizo)

    • TrishaCP on March 20, 2021

This was good but I did significantly alter the recipe. I cooked the chickpeas in advance in the Instant Pot with the aromatics (doubling up the bay) and adding tomato powder (tsp) and dried ramps (tbsp). Day of, I added potatoes and kale to the mix, and simmered until the veggies were cooked through. We didn’t use the bacon- the chorizo was plenty of meat.

Reviews about this book

  • Boston Globe by T. Susan Chang

...a generous vault of dishes and a good kitchen companion if you keep your wits about you. It's a fitting farewell from a writer who remained a fervent ambassador for...an underappreciated cuisine.
