Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Roasted garlic guacamole with help-yourself garnishes (Guacamole de ajo asado con sabores a escogar)

    • nutrica6 on April 30, 2025

This might be my favorite way to make guacamole. The quick pan roasted garlic is genius, and putting it out with all the toppings makes it fun and feel like a whole meal. I serve it with taco meat and tortilla chips so you get nachos!

  • Roasted beets with mustard

    • cjannace on June 30, 2015

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this recipe. I had some beets from this week's CSA share and had no clue what I wanted to do with them. This was a very simple recipe & had a lot of great flavor! I'll definitely be keeping this in rotation!

  • Pasta salad Niçoise

    • michelle_yn1fi9 on May 06, 2026

This would be 6 stars if I could. All the flavors work really well together. The briny saltiness from the capers and olives pair nicely with the tuna, while the lemon came through bright and fresh without being overpowering. The harissa added a slight warmth and spice in the background, and the roasted peppers (I roasted my own instead of using jarred) gave it a subtle sweetness. This was flavorful, balanced, and very satisfying.

  • Caramelized onion lasagna

    • nicole_mwyopi on April 27, 2026

This was absolutely fantastic. A lot of prep. And I skipping the food processor because of that. No regrets. May want to add chicken to get more protein. But what’s not to like? Carmelized onions? Yes please

  • Tofu & broccoli stir-fry

    • phillyecogirl on November 24, 2025

Sauce was tasty and fast to make. Made it with the vegetables I had on hand instead of broccoli (asparagus, red pepper, onion). I used a non-alcoholic substitute for the sherry (1/2 apple cider vinegar and 1/2 water).

  • Pork medallions with fig & Port wine sauce

    • JoCam1717 on September 11, 2014

      Worth finding tawny port for!

  • Quick pork & chile stew

    • cjannace on October 16, 2021

Not listed under soups & stews like my husband thought. Very tasty dish! Can't wait to make again!
