Saffron Braids p. 128 - I used 1/8 t. saffron - much too much! The dough was too sticky - did I make mistake w/flour? Did not rise well. My error?

Notes about Recipes in this book

  • Garlic bread

    • PennyG on June 28, 2020

This was wonderful! I made it this afternoon, then sliced, buttered and toasted it to have with Spaghetti for dinner.

  • Saffron bread

    • PennyG on September 30, 2021

This was just okay. Good bread but I didn’t get much saffron flavor. May need more (or fresher?) saffron than what I used.

  • Light rye bread

    • Kitiara121 on August 19, 2025

This bread is fantastic and very easy. The recipe was developed for bread makers but I always bake the bread in the oven. This one is going into my bread rotation.

  • Italian wheat bread

    • PennyG on July 09, 2023

Yum! This turned out great. Not a hugely pronounced pesto taste, but tasty nonetheless. Will make again.

  • Pumpernickel bread

    • PennyG on June 28, 2020

This is excellent! Have made it many times.

  • Onion bread

    • PennyG on May 30, 2022

This was nice! We had buttered slices with our dinner, warm from the machine. I am going to cube the rest and make croutons.

  • Outrageously oatmeal bread

    • thetinkhams on September 27, 2019

This is our go-to regular bread to make. Super quick to put in the bread machine, and bakes up perfect every time. Working from home, I can even set up a loaf at lunch to be ready for dinner, like we did today to make fantastic BLT sandwiches with farm-fresh lettuce and heirloom tomatoes and some Dakin Farm bacon!
