Amazon review says it all: This is the book that you want. The recipes are enthralling to the senses, hypnotic and deeply alluring. They can bewitch the mind and ensnare the soul and straddle the boundary of cooking and baking and potions and spell casting. This is the realm of witches and shamans and magicians and powers. They have the power to initiate and sanctify and make food holy. Frances was the food writer for the times in London for years. She looked inward and brought forth these magnificent treasures of cooking with fragrance. Using recipes not used for two hundred years. She's an excellent cooking teacher. All of the recipes are robust and work well.

This book is delightful. Just reading it makes me feel happy. I love the recipes and am planning to grow more plants to use in the recipes. Just wonderful. It's almost poetic! Do try it!
